I am a lousy blogger. That said, after numerous rejections and submissions, 2015 turned out to be an incredible year. I won a short story contest, saw my first SFWA qualifying sale, and my first podcasted piece of fiction. All of this happened abruptly after a fairly tumultuous summer. I’ve a lot to be grateful for, and if anyone reads this blog, it’s a lesson.
Keep writing and keep submitting.
Submitting will allow you to move on to other ideas, writing will help fend off rejectomancy, and the time between submission and rejection will freshen your eyes to your stories. All the better to see the flaws that come shrieking up at you from the page. It’s all good, so here’s to staying (productively) distracted during 2016.
